My Story
Diagnosed at age 4 with a rare incurable disease that only affects about 300,000 people in the US has literally shaped my entire life.
I've had to advocate for myself as I don't have any family or support other than the Scleroderma Community. I'm a volunteer, support group leader, and advocate. I advocate for myself and for the entire community on a daily basis. I'm a warrior and a fighter. I know now why I was given this awful disease: it's to step up and be that voice, that inspiration that someone might need on a bad day. I love what I do and wouldn't trade it for the world. It gives me purpose and meaning. It's my daily motivation to get out of bed when the pain is unbearable and on days when the chemo just wipes me out! Never, ever give up hope!
My Motivation and Inspiration
My motivation is my fellow Scleroderma community and all my warrior brothers and sisters. My motivation is my son, who has to deal with a terminally ill mom. I fight for them every day.
