My Story
When our 2nd son was born in 2003 we knew something was off.
I then became an advocate.
I started a support group for parents of children with sensory issues. I sat at the bedside of my maternal grandparents as they passed away, my grandfather with dementia and Parkinson's. In 2013 our (then) 12 year old was dx'd with pediatric COPD. In 2014, our other son was dx'd with Addison's Disease and then I put all my energy into learning and advocacy. Since then he has had a lot of mental health issues and now is dx'd with Functional Neurological Disorder (2020). And my Father was dx'd officially in 2018 with Frontal Temporal Dementia.
My Motivation and Inspiration
My grandmother fought for causes she believed in with all of heart and taught me to do the same. Since my children's complicated health issues forced me out of the workforce I use the time and skills I would have used there to advocate and pray each day I make my grandma proud.
