My Story
In March 2024, our world changed forever when Lilly was born. What began as a seemingly ordinary birth quickly turned into a journey filled with uncertainty and unforeseen challenges. Within hours, Lilly's tiny body faced complications that led her to the NICU-a place that marked the beginning of our deep dive into the realities of Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS).
Those early days were a whirlwind of tests, diagnoses, and heartache. Lilly needed a feeding tube to survive, and our days became a blur of appointments, therapies, and moments of overwhelming worry. Yet, even amidst all of these, Lilly's resilience shone through. Every small milestone-learning to drink from a bottle, sitting up on her own, and the first signs of movement-became a victory that fueled our hope.
Now, as we continue to navigate this complex journey, we know that more challenges lie ahead. PWS is a lifelong condition, and while the road may be bumpy, Lilly's progress inspires us to face the future head-on. Each day is a testament to the power of early intervention, the strength of a supportive community, and the unyielding love that drives us all.
Lilly's story isn't just about the struggles-it's about rising above them, celebrating every bit of progress, and standing together in the hope for a brighter tomorrow. Her journey is our rallying cry: to advocate for better treatments, to push for continuous research, and to ensure that every child with PWS receives the care they deserve.
Join us as we share Lilly's story and raise awareness about Prader-Willi Syndrome. Together, we rise, we fight, and we celebrate every step of this incredible journey.
My Motivation and Inspiration
Every day, when I look at Lilly, I'm reminded of the extraordinary strength that can emerge from the most challenging circumstances. Her journey with Prader-Willi Syndrome has not only reshaped our lives-it has ignited a fire within me to advocate for a future where every child with a rare disease can thrive.
From the uncertainty and heartache of those early days to the triumphant moments of small victories, Lilly's resilience inspires me beyond words. Watching her push forward-whether it's reaching for a toy, mastering a new skill, or simply smiling despite the struggles-reminds me that hope is a powerful force. Her courage fuels my passion for advocacy and drives me to ensure that no family has to navigate these challenges alone.
Lilly's journey has taught me that while the road may be long and winding, every step forward, no matter how small, matters. This belief is what motivates me every day to share our story, support others in the community, and work tirelessly toward a future of better care, understanding, and opportunity for all children facing rare diseases.
Together, we can turn every challenge into a steppingstone, and every setback into a reason to keep moving forward. That is my inspiration-and it is the legacy I hope to build alongside Lilly.
